When Robert Cram was diagnosed with ALS on March 8, 2006, we knew we had to do something to fight it. Anything to fight it. But the more we looked the more we found nothing. It seemed as though we just had to deal with it......
It turns out, we don't just deal well, so we started D'Feet ALS for CRAM and with the help of everyone in Cram's Crew we started raising money. Raise money was something we could do. In our very first fund raiser in May 2006 we raised over $3,000.00, we thought this was a good start. We donated the first check to the ALSA and then we started collecting money for the walk.
We were fortunate enough to be featured in an article in the Kansas City Star Newspaper. And we were asked to lead the teams in the d'Feet ALS walk. The entire team was proud to honor Robert in that was as we love him very much.
Working Rodeos, bake sales, raffles, duck ponds, and selling Grandma's pies we were able to raise over $19,000.00 for the ALSA in 2006. We are so thankful to everyone who donated, especially to those at High Stakes Rodeo Company, who gave their time and thier money to support Robert.
In 2007 we doubled our goal of $20,000 and raised and amazing $40,000 for the ALSA!! Each year we build on what we started by continuing our collection efforts.
